Summary: The results of this investigation on the extent of involvement of the parents in the education of their mentally retarded children is significant to the parents themselves. The characteristics of mentally retarded are such that certain knowledge and skills should be learned to understand them. This knowledge can be enhanced through efforts of the school to inspire these parents to participate in school activities to expose them to whatever talent or capabilities their special children posses.
