Summary: The New Elementary School Curriculum (NESC) for the Grade V level was implemented during the school year 1987-1988. Mastery Learning Approach is emphasized to achieve the objectives based on the MLCs. The child is expected to acquire at each grade level the learning outcomes in the different curriculum areas from Kindergarten to Grade 6. The expected outcomes of the child are stated from the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor behaviors. The learning of the lessons are systematically developed from the easiest to the most difficult, from the simplest to the most complex.
