Summary: People enter the teaching profession for a variety of reasons, although, eventually their main goal is self actualization. Some choose to teach because they like to be involved in relationship with people; some desire to develop and test their ideas about human behavior; some desire to maintain a family tradition of teaching and still others see teaching, like any other service occupation as a source of steady income and modest financial security.
