"Future College Fieldbook" is a critical examination of the mission, vision, and values of more than 140 colleges and universities. For use in strategic planning and accreditation exercises, the book is designed to be used by groups that are charged with drafting a future direction for their institutions. Numerous illustrations are used to reflect the differences between the three Carnegie Classifications studied: Baccalaureate Colleges, Research Universities, and Master’s Colleges and Universities. Each of the core chapters ends with a series of penetrating “Questions to Ask” that are designed to engage teams in productive conversations. Reflecting the hands-on nature of a fieldbook, "Future College" concludes with a “Promising Practices” chapter that details a series of nine practices that apply across all colleges and universities.
