Amok is the Tagalog word for mosquito. The antagonist in the novel is a very skilled warrior who can come and go, as stealthy as the mosquito. The people in the villages have lived in fear of this man. Amok is a relic from WWII. He has spent the past thirty years murdering anybody who crosses his path. Skilled with a katana and versed in the art of woodcraft, he has managed to elude capture. This is a fine war novel. It is violent and may not appeal to everyone. | ||
