520 _aPeriodically, critics assert a weakening in the moral fabric of their societies. The nursing profession is not spared of this criticism. Nurses may have all the skills and science possible, but it can happen that while the nurse's head is being filled with science, her heart is being emptied with values. Stripped of these values, nursing loses its soul and nothing is left but the empty husk of technical skills. Nursing education must be able to produce graduate who use their hands, minds as well as their hearts; nurses who are equipped with moral values necessary to clinical nursing practice; nurses who too can make a difference.
