Summary: Sonia Quintana dela Cruz was born January 13, 1941, in Dulag, Leyte, the Philippines. She is the second oldest of seven children born to Domingo Quintana and Basilia Go. Sonia has survived poverty and many trials. Through God's unending grace, she has seen her passionate dream realized: all of her children have become successful, happily married professionals. Sonia is cofounder of three successful worker's cooperatives: Dulag Multi-Purpose Cooperative, San Mateo Farmers Cooperative, and the Integrated Producers of Sapang Palay Multi-Purpose Cooperative. She is also the recipient of various awards from government and private organizations, which honor her dedication and faithful service in promoting the welfare of poor families, especially in the resettlement areas. Sonia migrated to the United States in 1994 and joined the Couple for Christ Ministry in New Jersey in 1995. She and her husband have served the Lord here ever since. She registered the Loving Neighbors Foundation in 1998 and helped to register the Helping Hand Foundation of Caloocan High School, Class of 1959. She currently sponsors scholarships through this organization.
