All material has been completely updated with the following topics being expanded or updated for the first time: imaging techniques, cell division cycle genes, cancer, recombinant DNA, biological rhythms in cancer therapy, cross-tolerance to drugs, bulimia, impotence and pregnancy sickness. Coverage of topics in exercise physiology and hte physiology of sex has been expanded also. This book also includes: extensive use of summary flow diagrams and summary tables; entire section on receptors, second messengers and signal transduction; and expanded coverage of molecular biology and its applications in human physiology.
