The Study of the Role of Institutions of Higher Education in the development of Countries in South-East Asia is the second project to be carried out under the Joint Unesco-International Association of Universities Research Program in Higher Education. This program, which constitutes a novel form of co-operation between an intergovernmental organization and an international academic body, was brought into being at the end of 1959.
