Test Facilities N2 - The management of quality has always been a challenge to the Indian industrial sector. The concept of total quality control at every stage of manufacture is essential for mass production. In this context, the case of Japan's amazing postwar growth which has been largely attributed to her strict adherence to quality requirements, is worth citing. This book has been divided into two parts. The first part which consists of 16 chapters deals with problems relating to the organisational aspects and delves into the influencing factors. The importance of stand-ardisation and the role of the Indian Standards Institution (ISI) is detailed in Chapter 3. Technical aspects relating to measurements and methodology have been incorporated in Chapter 4. The next nine chapters deal with various statistical approaches. Chapter 15 outlines the quality audit while Chapter 16 gives the testing facilities available in India. Procedures have been given in detail in order to enable the reader to apply these principles. It may be emphasized that this book does not primarily deal with statistical methods but with their application to industry, trade and administration ER -
