This book is about finding, evaluating, buying, renovating, and living in city houses. The usual city house is a row house: it can be anywhere from two to five stories high, is built of brownstone, limestone, brick, or wood, occupies a narrow, rectangular plot of land, and shares side walls with its neighbors.
