Measurement and Evaluation is a required subject in all teacher education courses. Its importance as a subject cannot be overemphasized for, with it, the teacher becomes empowered to assess the students' performance and assist them in the learning process. We have tried to introduce this subject matter in this book in the simplest possible way in order to ensure that our would-be teachers will get the correct concepts and practices, in educational measurement and evaluation. The Philippine Association for Teacher Education requested us to write a book on the subject precisely because the association feels that this in one area that should be well-understood by all students of teacher education.
