This book was written to help you learn how to use quantitative methods effectively. Many people who are studying quantitative methods, management science, or operations research often feel a need for additional practice in working with topics in those areas. In writing this book we have designed a series of examples and problems that will give you added insight into the mathematical methods associated with quantitative management. Although we have assumed that our readers will have had a course in college algebra and possibly a course in business statistics, examples and problems in this book usually require only minimal reliance on this mathematical background.
