Part 1. Data Collection -- Part 2. Communication -- Part 3. The Functional Specification -- Part 4. Other Skills .
The development and installation of data processing systems re- quire many skills. Some of these skills, such as writing programs and designing systems, have a technical orientation. The other skills generally assume some degree of technical competence but are aimed primarily at the human side of systems: the identification of the problem to be solved, the investigation into system feasibility, the functional specification of the system, the training of the personnel who must interface with the system, and the determination of sys- tem acceptability.
