Summary: The researcher wanted to find out the factors affecting academic performance in mathematics of public high school students particularly the students in the fourth year level. The study was conducted in the MAPSA area in the Division of Occidental Mindoro, province of Occidental Mindoro for this school year 2011-2012. The subjects were two hundred forty one (241) fourth year students systematically chosen by using random sampling. Other intellective factors such as those that involve highly mentally cognitive processes in nature are not included.
