For this book, this volume is a study of the life and labors of Rizal. It places Rizal in the context of history among his contemporaries, both heroes and villains. By placing Rizal in the historical context it largely explains the why's of his life. Also answering the why's of Rizal is a philosiphical inquiry which explains his acts. A third approach of sociological nature, places Rizal in the society of his centruy which explains the "how" questions on his life.
