PRODED or Program for Decentralized Educational Development is a four-year program (1982-1985) of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports addressed to the needs of the elementary sector. It was based on a study conducted by the Office of the Planning Service of the small-scale Decentralized Educational Planning Program (DEPP). This study focused on increasing the quality and efficiency of a sample of depressed, disadvantaged, underserved (DDU) schools.
