The scope of licensure examination for dentists includes dental jurisprudence and ethics as well as practice management. Dental Jurisprudence comprises all laws, rules, doctrines and principles, legal opinions and decisions of competent authority regarding governance and regulation of the practice of dentistry, while Dental Ethics deals with the principles of professional conduct of the dentist towards his patients, his colleagues and the community as well as the study and development of dental ethical standards. On the other hand, Dental Practice Management is the process by which efforts of dental practitioners are coordinated and combined with other resources to accomplish organizational goals and objectives of dentists.
